Paalam is the Tamil and Singhalese (Paalama) word meaning “Bridge”.In 1995,
God gave Jenny a vision to plant churches in Sri Lanka and to build a community center in Wattala, which would be active in sharing the gospel in word and social action.
By planting the church in Wattala and building the community center we hope to be a bridge between, Tamil and Singhalese, rich and poor, and the north and the south as the project develops.
In order to get to the Paalam Project you must cross a bridge over a canal that separates one area of Wattala from another. One side of the bridge is a very Catholic area and the other side, Buddhist and Hindu mixed. We hope to be a bridge into these communities to show God in action and to share the truth of the gospel.

Because of communal violence in Sri Lanka at least 150,000 Tamil people have left their own country as refugees to re-settle all over the world. There are even more displaced people in Sri Lanka itself.

Even though Jenny is no longer living in Sri Lanka, her burden has always been both for her country and for her people wherever they may have been scattered. Her hearts desire is to train and equip people for the work of Gods Kingdom both outside of and in Sri Lanka and to put something back into her homeland. The war has left many people homeless, jobless, family-less and God-less. who are unable to survive in a society that is unable to care for the poor, the destitute and the uneducated.

Jenny and Karen have devoted their lives to help those less fortunate in SriLanka through the Paalam Projects.
There is an International School running in , a Medical Center, a Children's Home, and a Sewing Center. Please see the links for more information about these projects

Our vision is to work with the community of whichever areas of Sri Lanka we are working into to provide employment projects, education and training to those who are unable to survive in a society that is unable to care for the poor, the destitute and the uneducated.
We desire to help people to help themselves, and thereby to be able to support their families in a way that is dignifying to them.
